About – Jaini Patel

My name is Jaini Patel, and I was born on April 12, 2007, in Vadodara, Gujarat. Currently, I’m a senior in high school, but tennis has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I picked up my first tennis racket when I was just 7 years old, and since then, the court has felt like my second home.

My love for the sport is deeply inspired by some of the greatest players of all time—Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams, and Roger Federer. Watching them has taught me what it means to be resilient, disciplined, and passionate, both in tennis and in life. They’ve shown me that success comes through hard work and that setbacks are just stepping stones toward improvement.

I’m incredibly fortunate to have a supportive family—my mom, Minal; my dad, Bhavesh; and my sister, Charmi. They’ve always been by my side, cheering me on through every match, every win, and even every loss.

Aside from tennis, I enjoy traveling, hiking, reading, gardening, and listening to music. These hobbies help me stay balanced and grounded, giving me the mental peace I need to perform my best on the court.

As I stand here today, I am excited for what the future holds. I know the road ahead won’t always be easy, but with hard work and the lessons I’ve learned from both tennis and life, I am confident I can face any challenge that comes my way.

Milestones of Mastery

My Journey in Sports & Academics

A showcase of dedication, resilience, and growth, both on the court and in the classroom. This section highlights the achievements that define my pursuit of excellence in tennis and academics.

  • Started playing tennis at the age of 7 and participated in my first club tennis match at 8 years old, reaching the semi-finals.
  • Made my debut in the AITA Tennis Circuit at 9 years old and continue to compete.
  • Played several hundred matches in the AITA Association.
  • Played my first national series match in the U14 category in Mumbai, where I lost in the qualifying round.
  • Participated in the Fenesta Open twice (U14 and U16), one of the biggest tennis tournaments in India.
  • Won a total of 15 notable titles, with my most recent title being at the TPL, where I participated in my first-ever women’s category match and mixed doubles.
  • I won my first women’s title against Ipshita Dholakia (6-2) and also won the mixed doubles category with my partner, Sanskar Choubey, defeating Deepak Unnam and Ipshita Dholakia (6-4).
  • Represented Team Vadodara at the state level for the last three years in Khel Mahakumbh, one of the largest tournaments organized by the government.
  • Participated in various sports throughout high school, including throwball, basketball, track and field, kho-kho, and kabaddi.
  • Secured 1st position in the throwball inter-house competition twice and 3rd position once.
  • Achieved both 1st and 3rd positions in basketball.
  • Won 1st position in the 400m race, 400m relay, and shot put consecutively for the last two years (2022-2023).
  • Finished 3rd in the 200m race in 2023.
  • Secured 1st position for my house in kabaddi in 2024; participated in CBSE games in kabaddi in 2022, where I bagged 2nd position at the state level and was selected for nationals.
  • Participated in school games during my sophomore and junior years, successfully representing my school at the zonal level.
